Foundry Shop

The Rustavi Metallurgical Plant’s shape-casting workshop is equipped with 3-tonne and 5-tonne capacity electric arc furnaces which produce steel, pig iron and non-ferrous metal castings.   

The shape-casting workshop provides the Plant’s other main workshops with different kinds of parts and the tube-rolling shop with process tools.

The following are produced in the shape-casting workshop:

• Reduction gear casings, armour plate, balls for ball-mills, manhole covers and grates for drainage pipes, railings, etc. These products can weigh between 0.5 and 5,000kg.
• The workshop can also manufacture products made of non-ferrous metals (aluminium, bronze, copper and other alloys) weighing between 0.5 and 300kg.
